What are Vyper Vaults?

Vyper Vaults is the first application layer built on Vyper Protocol. It allows users to farm while being protected from impermanent loss, while others can do leveraged farming without risk of liquidations.

Are the Vaults already live in mainnet?

Vaults are currently in devnet and will be released in mainnet in the next months following extensive testing.

How do the Vaults work?

At a high level, Vyper Vaults take LP tokens from yield-farming protocols e.g. Raydium, and redistribute the LP fees among the Protected and Leveraged sides. The Protected side gives up part of the yield in exchange for protection from Impermanent Loss (IL). The Leveraged side has increased exposure to IL but earns an enhanced yield as compensation.

What infrastructure makes the Vaults possible?

The Vaults are built on top of the Vyper Core infrastructure, which enables different types of derivatives to be built with a bespoke payoff and in just a few clicks. Check Overview for more info

Deposits

What type of assets can I deposit?

Vyper Vaults currently accept only LP tokens of yield-farming protocols (v2 style).

How can I deposit on the Vaults?

First, click on the AIDROP button to get devnet LP tokens (make sure you already have devnet SOL in your wallet, if you don't you can get them here).
After you get the devnet LP tokens, you can click on any vault and you should see the deposit screen.
Here you see the main information of the vault including a synthetic explanation of the vault strategy and main risks. Once you click Deposit, you will see a summary with the key information:
Once you read through the summary, click Confirm Deposit to start the deposit process. Depending on the state of the vault, you may be required to approve up to 3 transactions. Once all the transactions are confirmed, your deposit will appear in Deposits pending.
Until the epoch starts, your deposits will not be protected from IL (for the Protected) or earn additional yield (for the Leveraged). When the epoch actually starts, your LP tokens will be converted to Vault Tokens.

Is there a minimum amount needed to deposit?

There is no minimum deposit.

Do I have to re-deposit every epoch to keep my position active?

No, the vaults automatically auto-compound your deposits unless you withdraw your funds.

Are deposits exposed to the previous performance of the vault?

No, if you deposit in the middle of an epoch your funds will be deployed only at the beginning of the following epoch, so you won't be exposed to the vaults performance for the rest of the current one. However, since you are depositing LP tokens, your funds may still incur regular IL until the new epoch starts.

Withdrawals

How can I withdraw my funds?

Each vault supports two types of withdrawals
  • If you have funds currently deployed in an epoch, you can queue them for withdrawal and they will be available at the end of the epoch
  • If you have funds that were queued for withdrawal and the epoch has ended, you can collect the funds and transfer them to your wallet

How do I queue a withdrawal?

Head over to the Withdraw tab and select the amount you want to withdraw. You will be shown a summary of the key information of the withdrawal
Once you read through the summary, click Confirm Withdraw to start the withdraw process. Depending on the state of the vault, you may be required to approve up to 3 transactions. Once all the transactions are completed, your withdraw will appear in Withdrawals pending.
Until the epoch ends, your funds will not be available for withdraw. Once the epoch has finished, the tokens will appear in Ready to Withdraw, and you will be able to withdraw them back to your wallet.

Are queued withdrawals exposed to the performance of the vault?

Yes, until the tokens are ready to withdraw they will be fully exposed to profits/losses of the current epoch.

Are funds ready to withdraw exposed to the performance of the vault?

No, once the tokens are ready to withdraw they are not affected by the epoch profit/losses and can be withdrawn at any moment. Note that since the tokens are LP tokens, you may still be exposed to regular IL of the underlying protocol.

Fees

Are there any fees when using Vyper Vaults?

Currently we charge no fees on the vaults, though you may still have to pay some SOL to e.g. pay for transaction costs or open new token accounts. We reserve the right to add fees in the future.
